DeMarvin Leal has been projected by many to be taken during the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft. That was assuming that the Texas A&M junior defensive lineman would be leaving school early to turn pro.

Now, Leal has made that decision.

On Wednesday, Leal announced on his Instagram that his time with the Aggies will be coming to an end as he’s declared for the NFL Draft in April:

Over his 3 seasons at Texas A&M, Leal was a dominant force on the Aggies’ defensive line. He’s played 35 games and made 29 starts, which included starting all 22 games over the past 2 seasons.

This year, Leal has 58 tackles, 8.5 sacks and a forced fumble. He had 1 sack in each of Texas A&M’s final regular-season games.

It was a breakout season for Leal, who had 4.5 sacks and an interception over his first 2 years with the Aggies. Now, he’ll look to build off his impressive 2021 and try to excel as an NFL rookie in 2022.
