Departing Texas A&M defensive back Clifford Chattman is staying in the Lone Star State.

On Wednesday, Chattman announced his transfer commitment to UTSA. The news follows two September developments. Aggies coach Jimbo Fisher first said Chattman had opted-out of the 2020 season. Shortly after that announcement, Chattman released a statement saying he had entered the NCAA’s transfer portal.

Jeff Tarpley of GigEm247 notes that Chattman will be a graduate transfer and remained enrolled this semester after his opt-out and decision to enter the transfer portal.

Chattman made 12 appearances for the Aggies last season, including three starts at the nickel defensive back position.

During his time in College Station, Chattman recorded 35 tackles and 5 passes defended, including an interception.
