De’Von Achane suffered a knee injury during the Miami Dolphins’ win over the New York Giants in Week 5.

Achane, who is quickly becoming one of the top rookies in the NFL, was evaluated for the injury Sunday and Monday following the game. Now, according to ESPN, Achane is expected to miss multiple weeks and is a candidate for IR.

Achane’s start to the season has been unreal for a rookie and he’s already become a major part of the Dolphins’ offensive attack. The speedster out of Texas A&M already has 460 rushing yards with 7 total touchdowns, 5 rushing and 2 receiving. He is the NFL’s current co-leader in rushing touchdowns.

Raheem Mostert and Jeff Wilson will likely get more run in Achane’s absence. The rookie has earned the bulk of Miami’s carries since beating Denver 70-20 in Week 3.
