Former Texas A&M TE Martellus Bennett is never shy to tell the media exactly what’s on his mind. Following New England’s Super Bowl win Sunday, money was on Bennett’s mind.
Patriots TE Martellus Bennett: "I'm going into free agency as a Super Bowl champion. You know they overpay Super Bowl champions!" LOL

Bennett joined New England this season after the Patriots made a trade with the Chicago Bears. On his Bears contract, Bennett made roughly $5 million this season.
The timing is right for the former Aggie to cash in on his increased role in the Patriots’ championship run. Rob Gronkowski is New England’s top tight end, but his season ended prematurely in Week 12 due to injury. In Gronkowski’s absence, Bennett was asked to step up and delivered. Since Week 13, Bennett has made 24 catches for 259 yards and 3 touchdowns.
While Bennett’s agent may not appreciate his client predicting that his next employer will “overpay” for his services, the Texas A&M alumnus may gain some new fans for his honesty and sense of humor.
