Former Texas A&M player customizes cleats to support Jimbo Fisher's Kidz 1st Fund
For the fourth annual “My Cause My Cleats” weekend, players around the NFL have designed custom cleats to support any charity of their choosing. The result is always some awesome footwear for a good cause.
One player, Houston Texans fullback Cullen Gillaspia, took the opportunity to raise awareness for a charity tied to his alma mater, Texas A&M. Gillaspia designed custom cleats supporting the Kidz 1st Fund, which was started by Aggies head coach Jimbo Fisher.
Here’s a look at Gillaspia’s custom cleats:
"I chose the Kidz 1st Fund because as I grew closer to Jimbo Fisher and his family, I really got to see how Ethan Fisher was affected by what the Kidz 1st Funds Foundation has done for him and his health. I thought it was really inspiring."#MyCauseMyCleats pic.twitter.com/71WNnIOiUa

Kidz 1st Fund was started by Fisher and his wife, Candi, to fight against Fanconi anemia, a rare blood disorder that their son, Ethan, has. The organization has been raising funds since 2011, when Fisher was the head coach at Florida State.
It’s cool to see that the support for the charity has followed Fisher to Texas, as Gillaspia’s cleats will help continue to raise awareness for the foundation.
