Former Texas A&M running back reportedly inactive for NFL debut
Former Texas A&M running back De’Von Achane will have to wait for his regular season debut in the NFL.
A report from NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero declared Achane inactive for the Miami Dolphins’ Week 1 matchup against the LA Chargers. Achane has been dealing with a shoulder injury in practice and the Dolphins appear to not be rushing him out to the playing field because of it.
Probably a good call.
Just mentioned on @NFLGameDay: #Dolphins rookie RB De’Von Achane is expected to be inactive today against the #Chargers.
The third-round pick from Texas A&M missed time in camp with a shoulder injury and has some rust. Raheem Mostert and Salvon Ahmed will carry the load.

Achane was one of the top rushers in the SEC last season, finishing with 196 carries for 1,102 yards and 8 touchdowns. He showed some receiving ability too, totaling 196 yards and 3 touchdowns in the passing game.
And he played well during the NFL preseason, too. Once he hits the field he’ll back up Raheem Mostert, but there’s a strong chance he overtakes him if he can stay healthy.
