Kingsley Keke has seen his young NFL career fail to truly bloom due to concussion concerns and other injuries. He was a 5th-round pick by the Green Bay Packers in 2019 and played in 14 games as a rookie, recording 9 tackles and 0 sacks. He then registered 4.5 sacks in 2020 through 15 games and 9 starts before 20 tackles and 2.5 sacks through 12 games and 8 starts in 2021.

However, in 2020, Keke was concussed and didn’t play in the Packers’ final 3 games that season. Then, against the Arizona Cardinals on Oct. 28, he had a 2nd concussion that held him out for a pair of games. He has also been out of the lineup for the last several weeks.

With the Packers hosting the San Francisco 49ers in an NFC Divisional Round game on Saturday, the team announced Wednesday that Keke had been released. He was set to enter the final year of a 4-year contract.

Now, the former Texas A&M defensive lineman is a free agent, and it will be interesting to see where his next stop will be.
