Haynes King, former Texas A&M QB, reportedly settles on transfer destination
Haynes King, a quarterback at Texas A&M for 3 seasons, has found his new team.
King entered the transfer portal nearly 3 weeks ago, and reportedly settled on Georgia Tech, according to On3 Sports. The former 4-star recruit early enrolled at Texas A&M as part of the Aggies’ 2020 recruiting class. He redshirted his first season on campus, and played in 2 games.
King was seen as the quarterback of the future multiple times for the Aggies, as he was Texas A&M’s Week 1 starting quarterback each of the past 2 seasons. He suffered a season-ending injury after 2 games in 2021.
King was among 3 QBs for the Aggies this season, and in 2022, King made 6 appearances, and went 104-of-187 passing for 1,220 yards, 7 touchdowns and 6 interceptions. The 1,220 passing yards are a team-high for the Aggies in a season in which King, Max Johnson and Conner Weigman all started games at the quarterback position.
Factoring in the pandemic waiver for 2020 and a redshirt for 2021, King will have 3 remaining seasons of eligibility.
