Hugh Freeze leads his Auburn Tigers into a hostile environment in College Station to take on Texas A&M this weekend. The Aggies lost to Miami 48-33 in Week 2 but still have high hopes for a 2023 campaign that is pivotal for Jimbo Fisher’s outlook as head coach.

Fisher has landed a top-10 recruiting class in nearly every cycle (2018 being the outlier) since he took over as A&M’s head coach in late 2017. Freeze has taken notice of the high talent level and knows that his Tigers will be in for a professional-level matchup on Saturday.

“The depth, the size, the speed — it’s full of NFL players,” Freeze said of the A&M roster Thursday night during an appearance on Tiger Talk.

Freeze is expecting a tough contest in every sense with SEC play starting up, saying the road trip out to Cal earlier in the year won’t quite compare.

Regardless, Freeze hopes that his team prepares in the same way it did for the prior road trip, citing that his goal is for this team to approach every game in the same way. However, he may find problems with convincing people of that when the Iron Bowl rolls around.

The Tigers are set to take on the Aggies at noon ET on ESPN.
