In the mix for Group of 5 job, Mike Elko reportedly makes decision about Texas A&M future
As Temple looked to fill its head coaching vacancy following the departure of Geoff Collins to Georgia Tech, the defensive coordinator at Texas A&M, Mike Elko, was mentioned as a possibility.
Temple reportedly is interested in a defensive-minded coach, and multiple reports had him linked with the opening.
Elko just finished his first season at Texas A&M, and previously coached at Notre Dame and Wake Forest in similar positions.
The Aggies had a pretty good year on defense as they were ranked No. 7 in the SEC on total defense, were No. 1 in rushing defense, but last in passing defense in the league.
Elko has elected to return to College Station, according to a report from Pete Thamel of Yahoo Sports.
