Jaguars owner Shad Khan 'pushing hard' for 1 team to replace Texas A&M in Gator Bowl
The Jacksonville Jaguars’ stadium will be used for the Gator Bowl, if the game is played at all this year.
The game, originally scheduled between Wake Forest and Texas A&M, is in jeopardy after the Aggies had to drop out due to COVID-19 issues within their program.
The Demon Deacons still want to play, though, so the Gator Bowl is scrambling to find a new team to oppose Wake Forest. Enter Jaguars owner Shad Khan, who is reportedly pushing hard to get 5-7 Illinois, his alma mater, into the game:

The Illini picked up some big wins this year, including in Week 0 against Nebraska and a 9-overtime thriller at Penn State.
Could Bret Bielema get his team ready to go on such short notice? We’ll see what happens with the Gator Bowl moving forward.
