Jaylen Henderson impresses Texas A&M fans: 'Lamar Jackson Jr. sitting on our bench'
Jaylen Henderson is making the most of his opportunity. The quarterback got the start on Saturday against Mississippi State because of Max Johnson’s rib injury.
Henderson has shined in his debut, and accounted for 3 touchdowns in the first half. Henderson’s Aggies went into halftime with a 34-10 lead over the Bulldogs.
Social media was ablaze with talk about the young QB:

Jaylen Henderson might be the very definition of late bloomer when it comes to recruiting etc., at least based on his HS recruitment. 3 star a few years ago, lightly recruited.

Jaylen Henderson is playing lights out. You never want your third string guy as starter, but he came into a great situation as far as having to start a conference game.
These real time reps and early success are big for him.

Jaylen Henderson’s 11-yard rushing TD was his second of the game. He is the first A&M quarterback with multiple rushing TDs in a game since Kellen Mond against Mississippi State in 2019.

I love how Jimbo has hid the best QB from us for 9 weeks.

It will be interesting to see if Henderson can continue the impressive play in the 2nd half.
