Jim Schlossnagle and Texas A&M will host a regional that includes Oral Roberts, Louisiana, and a program Schlossnagle is very familiar with, TCU.

Schlossnagle was TCU’s coach from 2004 to last season before he left to take the Aggies job. Schlossnagle led one of the most impressive turnarounds in the country this season as he re-built an Aggies team that ultimately finished 37-18 and fell to Florida in the SEC Tournament semifinals.

When Schlossnagle was at TCU, the Horned Frogs advanced to 5 College World Series and Schlossnagle became the all-time winningest coach in the program’s history. His record at the school was 734-346 (.680). TCU went 41-19 last season.

After the regional teams were announced, Schlossnagle spoke about the possible matchup.

“Just play baseball and try to not pay attention to the jersey, the coaches and the players on the other side.” Schlossnagle said, via TexAgs, and added that he already prepared himself mentally for possibly facing the Horned Frogs. “I wish them the best of luck except if we have to play.”

About the Aggies’ first matchup in Oral Roberts, Schlossnagle said, “My standard on the NCAA Tournament is this: You’re either going to play a really good team, a really hot team, or a team that’s both.”
