Jimbo Fisher and Steve Addazio face intense backlash as Texas A&M offense sputters early

Jimbo Fisher and Steve Addazio drew heavy backlash from Texas A&M fans and media after the Aggies offensive line struggled mightily to start the game Saturday against South Carolina.

The Gamecocks delivered 3 early sacks, and Texas A&M mustered just 3 yards on its first drive, then 14 yards on 8 plays on its next drive. Addazio, the offensive line coach for the Aggies, shouldered much of the blame in reactions by fans and media in the first half.

One bright spot was that the Aggies began the game 3-for-3 on 4th down.

Texas A&M took the lead over the Gamecocks with a 10-play, 48-yard drive that took 6:19 late in the first half.

The Aggies led 14-7 late in the first half.
