Texas A&M lost some depth on defense recently as coach Jimbo Fisher said on Monday that DB Larry Pryor is no longer with the team.

The coach didn’t elaborate at his regular Monday press conference about Pryor, who played in each of the team’s first six games, totaling 12 tackles, a tackle for loss, a pass breakup and a forced fumble. Pryor did not play in the win over Ole Miss on Saturday.

Pryor, a Sulphur Springs, Texas native, was a 4-star prospect in the Class of 2015, and was the No. 8-rated safety in America in his recruiting class, according to 247Sports.

Pryor was among a host of injured or otherwise absent players that Fisher updated the status of on Monday.

A pair of defensive starters did not dress out against Ole Miss in both DE Micheal Clemons and S Keldrick Carper. TE Glenn Beal missed the game with an injury, and CB Charles Oliver was injured as well.

“Olive was out. We’ll see this week. We don’t know if he’ll return this week – possibly could, possibly not,” Fisher said. “Clemons the same way. They were all injured. Beal the same way. Carper (too). We’re hoping some of these guys will be back. We’re expecting some of them back. I can’t say all or not. It’ll be how things go during the week.”

DB Roney Elam, who has missed the past four games with an undisclosed issue, remains out.

“He’s unavailable,” Fisher said.

S Derrick Tucker is redshirting, Fisher said. He started seven games as a true freshman in 2017 and played in 10 games a year ago. He has played in the maximum four games this season where he can still redshirt and not lose a season of eligibility.
