A new era for Texas A&M started on Saturday.

It was the Aggies’ first game at the helm of new offensive coordinator Bobby Petrino, who joined Jimbo Fisher’s staff after spending the last 3 seasons coaching at Missouri State.

Fisher was delighted with Petrino’s offense, which put up 52 points on New Mexico.

“Very good, I thought it went very smooth, course he made great calls, we had great communication, not only with myself, but the staff and people inside, getting the signals, getting the calls in and translating the information between drives,” Fisher said during the SEC coaches teleconference on Wednesday. “Going over the mistakes and things we wanted to do. I thought it went very smooth, I thought Bobby did a great job.”

Petrino and his offense will get a big test this weekend when they take on Miami at Hard Rock Stadium. The Aggies took last season’s game 17-9, but the Hurricanes are looking for revenge this time out. The game will kickoff at 3:30 p.m. ET.
