The Texas A&M Aggies are 2-1 with only a two-point loss to No. 2 Clemson as a blemish on their record, so it’s been a good start for new coach Jimbo Fisher.

However, the Aggies travel to Tuscaloosa to take on the No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide on Saturday, where Fisher will face his toughest test yet.

Fisher used to work for Alabama coach Nick Saban during their LSU days, but during his radio show on Wednesday night, he revealed a different person as his biggest influence as a coach — his dad:

That’s a great answer, and while Saban definitely had a big impact on Fisher’s career, Fisher’s dad was the first to instill that mentality in him.

That mentality has served Fisher well so far, and if he pulls off a win against Alabama on Saturday, he’ll be the first former Saban assistant ever to earn a victory over the Alabama coach.
