Texas A&M coach Jimbo Fisher announced on the SEC coaches media teleconference on Wednesday that the quarantined players will return to the program on Saturday or Sunday.

Did Fisher think the Ole Miss game was going to be postponed ahead of the announcement?

“Well, knowing the numbers, yes,” Fisher said. “Our numbers never changed. the reason we missed last week is the same reason we missed this week.”

Fisher also shared how the dead period in recruiting affects programs.

“It’s tough because kids that wanted to be here and wanted to get to know you, it affects things,” he said. “We are doing really well right now, feeling good about our class but there are guys that have yet to experience (a visit) and I think it affects future classes.”

Fisher is familiar with the likely SEC Championship matchup between Florida and Alabama.

“Both very good teams, says (Jaylen) Waddle was the most explosive player in football, but they haven’t missed a beat, that shows their depth,” Fisher said. “Both really really good teams and we were 1-1 against them.”

It appears that the Aggies may be in the conversation for the No. 4 team to reach the College Football Playoff. So when will Fisher lobby for that with the rankings?

“When the season is over, when our entire body of work is done,” Fisher said.
