Jimbo Fisher and Texas A&M football have dropped both their first big tests of the season against Alabama and Miami.

The Aggies heading into Week 7 against Tennessee are not the same Aggies that lost to Miami in Week 2. They played well against an Alabama squad that, despite some concerns, still has impressive talent and is a real threat to win the SEC.

On Monday, Fisher was asked about the Aggies’ collective response to Week 6’s close loss to the Tide. He told reporters that while the Aggies were hurt after Week 6, that doesn’t mean they’re dejected or quitting.

“You saw a hurt locker room, a disappointed locker room,” Fisher said. “You didn’t see a dejected or quitting locker room. Our kids have character, they have heart.”

The Aggies may have dropped the ball in their first 2 tests of the year, but there are 3 more big matchups upcoming: Tennessee in Week 7, Ole Miss in Week 10 and LSU to end the regular season.

This week proves to be the Aggies’ 2nd road test of the season and they get Josh Heupel and Co. off a bye week. If the Aggies are going to turn things around, it starts Saturday.

Let’s see what they’re made of.
