Jimbo Fisher laments that slow start ultimately cost Texas A&M in loss to Ole Miss
Jimbo Fisher lamented that Texas A&M got off to a slow start in the first half, and had too much of a hole to dig out of 29-19 loss to Ole Miss.
Texas A&M trailed 15-0 at the half, but climbed to within 15-13 in the fourth quarter, as the Aggies got a touchdown from Devon Achane and field goals from Seth Small. But Isaiah Spiller was held to 15 carries and 41 yards.
The loss snapped a 4-game winning streak for the Aggies, and ended their chances of winning the SEC West.
Here’s a sampling of what Fisher told the media:
Jimbo Fisher on Isaiah Spiller: “The guy has had 3,000 yards. He’s our guy. He is one of the best backs in our history. … He’s still going to be used in the same rotation.”

Jimbo Fisher on Jerrion Ealy: “Good play. We didn’t tackle well, but he ran well. He’s a good player. He’s fast.”

“We didn’t play with enough poise on offense or defense in the first half… put ourself behind the 8-ball too quick,” Jimbo Fisher said.

Jimbo Fisher: “It’s a game of inches. You fight for the inches. They won them in the first half. We won them a lot in the second half until the end.”

Jimbo Fisher: “The tempo and they got 58 plays (in the first half), but that’s because we didn’t get first downs on offense. … They just executed and got the ball out. We didn’t make the plays we needed to make. They outplayed us.”
