Jimbo Fisher is on a tour of fan and booster club events this spring, and loves talking about the Aggies.

Fisher is excited about the depth on the team, and he said now through May is when the identity of a team is developed because players are working on their own.

“Some of the best teams I have ever had came off of seasons where they did not achieve what they wanted and came back that next year,” Fisher said to the Fort Worth A&M Club, per TexAgs. “We didn’t reach our goals yet, but we will and I promise you that.”

About the offensive line specifically, Fisher said the Maroon Goons are ready to go.

“We have a chance to have a really good offensive line,” he said. “What is the difference between the SEC and every other league? The guys that put their hands on the ground…Layden Robinson is one of the most powerful guys I ever coached.”

Two days ahead of the NFL Draft, Fisher said he expects 7 Aggies to be drafted, and several more will land with NFL teams. The goal is to put 8 to 12 players in the NFL each year.

Speaking about recruiting nationally, Fisher said the Aggies will find elite players everywhere.

“We’re gonna build a national brand,” he said. “The top two players out of Florida are coming to A&M. The top player in Tennessee is coming here…A&M is the best-kept secret in the world. What the school can do for these kids is amazing.”
