As a freshman in 2018, Texas A&M RB Vernon Jackson appeared in 11 games, playing primarily on special teams. He also ran for 49 yards on seven carries.

However, as the Aggies move on from Trayveon Williams this fall, Jackson won’t be in the mix to get more work.

On Tuesday at SEC Media Days in Hoover, coach Jimbo Fisher revealed that Jackson would miss the entire 2019 season with a neck injury:

Jashaun Corbin is the projected starter at running back for the Aggies, but this certainly hurts the team’s depth at the position.

Fisher said they could apply for a medical redshirt, so we’ll see what happens with Jackson moving forward.
