Jimbo Fisher understands the importance of the 12th Man at Texas A&M. The Aggies head coach answered a question about what he looks for in a player to receive the honor at Monday’s presser.

Fisher is planning on naming a 12th Man sometime before the season opener on Saturday. Fisher stated that it comes down things like a player’s character.

“Always the character and what they stand for, what they represent, their effort, and how much selflessness there is. Are they ready to go at all times? Just like the 12th Man is based off of. How much of their heart and soul is into to every inch of practice and what this program stands for. I’ve had more guys this year that I’ve really had to put my mind and choose from. I don’t mean that as a negative, I think it’s a positive to what this team is.”

It sounds like Fisher has a tough decision to make when it comes to this year’s 12th Man. The good news is that fans will know who it is before the season opener.

Texas A&M faces New Mexico on Saturday in College Station. The game kicks off at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN.
