Jimbo Fisher and the Texas A&M Aggies suffered a disappointing home loss against unranked Mississippi State on Saturday night in College Station.
The Aggies had a chance to put together a game-winning drive late, but that drive instead ended in a safety as the Bulldogs held on for a 26-22 win.
After the game, Fisher spoke about his team’s performance. Once considered a College Football Playoff contender, the Aggies are now sitting at 3-2 on the season.
Here’s what Fisher had to say after the disappointing loss:
On the performance of star RB Isaiah Spiller:
Jimbo Fisher on Isaiah Spiller: "I thought he played one of his better games today. … He's always a team leader who plays his heart out. Physical guy. We have to keep getting him the ball."

On how to bounce back from the loss:
Jimbo Fisher: "You play every week to be a good football player, a good team and to win the game. We have to line up each week and play a good game and see where the year takes us."

Jimbo Fisher on Zach Calzada: "He's getting better and better… We have to continue to play better around him. … We just have to play together as a unit."

On the struggles of the defense:
Jimbo Fisher: "We gave up too many controlled drives. They ate so much clock. We only had four possessions in the second half. We have to get more three-and-outs."

Jimbo Fisher on A&M's defense: "We weren't doing a good job covering in man, so we mixed in some man and zone. We did not do a good job in coverage."

The Aggies don’t get much time to recover. No. 1 Alabama comes to College Station next weekend.
