Johnny Manziel offers strong comments about playing in XFL, potential return to football
Former Texas A&M QB and Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel hasn’t played organized football since the Alliance of American Football shut down last year.
As the XFL starts up this weekend, Manziel isn’t on any XFL roster, so it appears as if his career playing football may be over.
On Friday night, Manziel took to Twitter to say ComebackSZN is still on, but then he took a shot at the XFL, saying he’s not going to play for another league that might fold:
ComebackSZN still alive if y’all ain’t know. Just not playing for another league that’s going to fold on you midway through the season

If I never pick up a ball again it’s all love. I was the most lit, most relatable college football player to ever do it. Did things my way and made it way further than I ever could of imagined. The game gave me life and I’ll forever be grateful

We’ll see if the XFL learned any lessons from the failed AAF. If not, it could be doomed to fail once again, like it did the first time back in 2001.
The XFL doesn’t have much star power at the moment, so a name like Manziel would help. But, as of right now, it doesn’t sound like either side is interested in the other.
