Okay, Vince McMahon’s new league now has our attention.

According to Glenn Moore, formerly of The Plain Dealer in Cleveland, the first priority of the new league will be none other than former Texas A&M Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel. Considering Manziel is currently on a comeback tour, the interest does make some sense for both parties. However, Moore also indicates the new league won’t start until 2020.

How long would Manziel be willing to wait, considering he’s likely also a top target for the Canadian Football League?

One reason the original XFL died after only one season was the rush to get the product on to the field. That resulted in poor football that was displayed for fans, which was the league’s undoing. At least this time around, it appears McMahon is doing what he can to avoid that mistake.

The 2012 SEC Offensive Player of the Year threw for 7,820 yards and 63 touchdowns while rushing for 2,169 yards and another 30 scores in only two seasons in College Station. He was a first-round draft pick by the Cleveland Browns in 2014 but only lasted two seasons in the NFL.

Would you watch this league if Manziel started for one of the teams?
