Former Texas A&M great Johnny Manziel didn’t waste any time reaching out to a former Florida star to troll him for the Aggies upset of the Gators on Saturday.

Manziel’s friendship with Chandler Parsons apparently stems from their time in Memphis together when Manziel was a member of the Memphis Express of the Alliance of American Football league.

Manziel has had a checkered path since that magical 2012 Heisman Trophy season. He has struggled with substance abuse, and was banned from the CFL. He then joined the AAF’s San Antonio Commanders who later waived him, which led to his Memphis arrival.

The upset must’ve been sweet revenge for Manziel, who lost to the Gators in the Aggies’ SEC debut in 2012.

There was a lot for Manziel to talk about Saturday after Isaiah Spiller rushed for 174 yards and two touchdowns, and the No. 21 Aggies beat No. 4 Florida 41-38 on Seth Small’s 26-yard field goal as time expired. Kellen Mond threw a 51-yard pass to Caleb Chapman for a tying TD with less than five minutes to go.

While both teams put up huge numbers, the defense will also have a lot of discussion after the teams combined for more than 900 yards.

Texas A&M returns to action next week against Mississippi State, while Florida will play LSU.
