Kellen Mond was released by the Minnesota Vikings ahead of the 2022 season. The Vikings were hoping to bring the former Texas A&M star back to the team as a member of the practice squad, but it doesn’t appear that will be the case.
Per reports on Wednesday, the Cleveland Browns have decided to bring Mond in, claiming him on waivers:

Mond was chosen by the Vikings in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft, going No. 66 overall. He made his regular-season debut against the Green Bay Packers in Week 17 last year, completing 2 of 3 passes for 5 yards.
The Browns currently have Jacoby Brissett as their starter while Deshaun Watson serves an 11-game suspension. Former Tennessee QB Josh Dobbs was the only other QB on the active roster before Mond was claimed.
