During Tuesday night’s weekly radio appearance, Texas A&M coach Kevin Sumlin shot down reports claiming offensive coordinator Jake Spavital would not be retained at season’s end.
“I’m not going to talk about where that (report) came from,” Sumlin said, according to The Houston Chronicle. “That didn’t come from me. At this point there’s always going to be conjecture. There’s nothing factual about that report.”

The report to which Sumlin is referring surfaced after Saturday’s loss to Auburn, the Aggies’ third in four games since beating Mississippi State on Oct. 3. Texas A&M’s offense has struggled this season and many issues came to light following Spavital’s well-publicized sideline spat with Kyler Murray against Alabama.
Spavital is said to be in the running for the North Texas job along with Oklahoma offensive coordinator Lincoln Riley.
