Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops may have been asked more about the SEC than his own team this past week at ESPN’s ‘car wash’. Stoops responded to Nick Saban’s Sugar Bowl ‘consolation’ comments, and he also took a shot at Texas A&M’s conference schedule.

Stoops sarcastically called Lamar, Rice, SMU and ULM a “bunch of toughies”, and Sumlin responded to those comments Friday at a Coach’s Night event before Houston Aggies, via the Houston Chronicle.

“Coach (Bob) Stoops has the right to say whatever he wants, but if he wants to play us again we’ll take him up on that.”

And by ‘again’, Sumlin is referring to the Aggies’ 41-13 beat down over the Sooners in the 2013 Cotton Bowl, where Johnny Manziel racked up 516 total yards and four touchdowns.

Of course, Sumlin coached under Stoops at Oklahoma from 2003 to 2007, and at the rate we’re seeing big-time programs schedule games against each other, maybe it’s not too far-fetched that we’ll see the Aggies and Sooners hook back up in the near future.
