Report: New information sheds light on why Santino Marchiol was dismissed by Kevin Sumlin

Last week, former Texas A&M LB Santino Marchiol made some serious claims against Jimbo Fisher and his A&M staff while petitioning the NCAA for immediate eligibility at Arizona.

However, it appears that waiver request is now moot, as it was announced on Monday that Marchiol has been dismissed from the Wildcats.

Below, you can see Arizona (and former Texas A&M) coach Kevin Sumlin telling reporters that Marchiol was informed on Monday morning about his dismissal:

But, for those wondering what this means about Marchiol’s allegations against A&M, this appears to be unrelated.

According to reporters familiar with the situation, a video surfaced on Friday of Marchiol referring to his black A&M teammates as “monkeys,” which led to his dismissal:

That, obviously, is a very ugly offense, and based on Sumlin’s reaction, it seems as if the Wildcats confirmed that it was Marchiol on the video.
