Kevin Sumlin and Texas A&M aim to keep improving in matchup with Alabama
The Texas A&M Aggies have responded well after a disappointing start to the season.
The Aggies blew a huge lead in the opening game of the season in a 45-44 loss to UCLA to begin the season before struggling against Nicholls State at home. It was not a pretty site, and head coach Kevin Sumlin was squarely on the hot seat following the disappointments.
A&M has since rebounded and started SEC play 2-0 with wins over Arkansas and South Carolina. The Aggies now have a 4-1 record and just barely missed out on starting the season with a perfect 5-0 record.
Nevertheless, Saturday will be by far the toughest game to date for the Aggies. A&M will take on No. 1 Alabama at home, and it would likely take an incredible performance to top the Crimson Tide.
Sumlin made a recent appearance on ESPNU Radio, and he believes A&M has improved throughout the season and will continue to improve with a strong performance against Alabama.
