Kirk Herbstreit thinks Texas A&M is irrelevant without Trevor Knight
ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit didn’t hold back when talking about the Texas A&M Aggies on Tuesday night’s College Football Playoff rankings show.
He said the season-ending injury suffered by star QB Trevor Knight in a loss to Mississippi State on Saturday will make the Aggies irrelevant in the near future:
ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit on No. 8 Texas A&M: They’re going to be gone relatively soon, now that Trevor Knight is out.

More from ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit: This is a whole different (A&M) team moving forward. We will not be talking about Texas A&M in a week.

With this weekend’s opponent, Ole Miss, also missing its star quarterback in Chad Kelly, Knight’s absence may not be felt by the Aggies until the last week of the regular season, when they host a tough LSU defense.
However, to keep Texas A&M relevant and prove Herbie wrong, backup QB Jake Hubenak is going to have to grow up in a hurry.
