Texas A&M’s backup QB Kyle Allen: ‘Don’t count me out yet’

Texas A&M’s quarterback battle has been settled for at least the first game of the season.
Yesterday, Aggies’ head coach Kevin Sumlin announced sophomore Kenny Hill will start against South Carolina, meaning true freshman early enrollee Kyle Allen would become the backup. If you read Kevin Sumlin’s words closely, it seems that Allen will continue to battle Hill throughout the season.
“The competition was close and that competition will continue to help us improve,” Sumlin said in a statement. “I have talked to both quarterbacks as well as the team and we will prepare with Kenny getting the first-team reps.”
The competition was said to be ‘dead even’ this past week, according to Sumlin, and Allen took to Twitter to tell fans he’s not out of it yet.
