Leon O'Neal makes decision on Texas A&M bowl game, 2022 plans
Leon O’Neal, a senior safety at Texas A&M, has shared his plans about the Gator Bowl and the 2022 season.
O’Neal wrote on social media that he is opting out of playing in the bowl game on Dec. 31 against Wake Forest and will prepare for the NFL Draft. He thanked his coaches, players, fans and even wrote to recruits that “these are the type of people you dream of representing every Saturday.”
O’Neal, a 6-foot-1, 210 pounder, was fourth on the team with 58 stops (38 of them solo) to go with 3 tackles for loss, 5 passes broken up, a sack, a fumble return, and a 85-yard interception return for a touchdown in the season opener against Kent State.
“It has been such an honor spreading the love of God and representing Texas A&M,” he wrote. “Now it’s time to WakeEmUp in the NFL. God bless and Gig’Em.”
