Mike Elko spoke with reporters on Saturday evening after Texas A&M’s disappointing loss at South Carolina.

Elko covered a variety of topics, but he specifically spoke about the health of starting running back Le’Veon Moss. The talented runner suffered what appeared to be a serious leg injury against the Gamecocks on Saturday night after colliding with a South Carolina defender.

Moss went into the injury tent for several minutes before eventually being carted off the field. ABC’s Molly McGrath reported that numerous teammates were concerned about Moss’s status while he was being checked out by medical personnel.

However, Elko shared some good news late Saturday night. He told reporters that his injury “doesn’t look as bad as it did on the field.”

Moss could still end up missing some time due to the injury, but Elko sounds optimistic about his status long-term. Amari Daniels played well with Moss sidelined, including a 56-yard touchdown run to help bring Texas A&M back within a score in the first half. Daniels finished with 83 yards on 13 carries.

Texas A&M will be idle in Week 11 before hosting New Mexico State in Week 12.
