Moose Muhammad III throws punch in Texas A&M game, draws penalty flag
Moose Muhammad III nearly had an early exit from Saturday’s Texas A&M-McNeese game.
A McNeese player appeared to snatch Muhammad’s mouth guard from his helmet. Muhammad was not amused, and swung at the player in retaliation.
Just saw the Moose Muhammad punch penalty. How is he still in this game?

While throwing a punch is grounds for ejection in college football, Muhammad remained in the game. In the video, below, Muhammad keeps his palm open when swinging at the player’s helmet.

In the first half of Saturday’s game, Muhammad was targeted twice. He has 2 catches for 23 yards and 1 touchdown, with a long of 20 yards and 11 yards after the catch.
Texas A&M is on track for its first victory of the 2024 season, leading McNeese 38-0 early in the 3rd quarter. The game is airing on the SEC Network.
I can’t believe a guy named Muhammad lost his temper and reacted with immediate violence
Clickbait sensationalism. He did not “punch” the player who grabbed his mouthpiece; he slapped him. big difference. McNeese player guilty of starting the confrontation and overacting with the “flop.” He was lucky the ref didn’t call penalties on both players to offset each other. Moose didn’t deserve to be ejected, but he does need to learn self-control or other teams will be picking on him all season.
Second guy almost always gets the flag. Yes, Moose did not instigate this, but he needs to have more self-discipline.
