Texas A&M is certainly causing a stir early in the Jimbo Fisher era, as assistants Tim Brewster and Mike Elko have been riling up opposing fanbases.

On Saturday night, it was Elko’s turn, and he riled up Notre Dame fans. The former Notre Dame defensive coordinator tweeted out the phrase “40-year decision” in a tweet about A&M preparing kids for the future.

The tweet, which has since been deleted, drew the ire of Notre Dame fans, as that is a phrase the Irish commonly use to sell athletes on coming to South Bend.

“At Texas A&M, we are making moves on and off the field. It’s a 40 year decision and everybody knows that Aggies take care of Aggies! #GigEm,” Elko tweeted, with a graphic that showed how much Texas A&M graduates make after leaving the university.

So, while Brewster has been getting on the nerves of Florida State and Texas fans, Elko has now gotten in the heads of Notre Dame fans.

Whatever happens on the field, Jimbo Fisher’s first year in College Station has already been exciting.
