When Jeff Banks left the Texas A&M Aggies this offseason to become the special teams coordinator at Alabama, he did so with a little over a year left on his contract with the Aggies.

Now, the Texas A&M Board of Regents is preparing for a vote on whether or not to pursue legal action against Banks for breach of contract.

According to The Eagle, the regents will vote on Thursday to decide on the action they want to take with Banks:

The Texas A&M University System Board of Regents will vote to proceed with litigation against former Texas A&M special teams coordinator, tight ends coach and recruiting coordinator Jeff Banks due to breach of employment contract Thursday, according to the regents’ meeting agenda.

Per the report, Alabama AD Greg Byrne said the buyout amount should be just north of $450,000 — the remaining salary left on his contract.

What happens next remains to be seen, but the vote on Thursday will be something to watch.
