For Texas A&M the dead period was anything but. There were commitments, de-commitments, transfers, controversies and the threat of coaching changes from the time the regular season ended until the bowl game. However the Aggies seem to have gotten through the worst of it and are now trying to finish up another top 20 recruiting class.

Here’s a review of Texas A&M’s signing class with two weeks remaining before Feb. 3 signing day and a few predictions on where the Aggies could end up in February. We use 247Sports composite team and player rankings:

SIGNING DAY PREDICTION

With Kyle Allen and Kyler Murray deciding to transfer after the regular season, quarterback was the top priority, and the staff did as good a job as expected by landing Oklahoma graduate transfer Trevor Knight and three-star prospect Nick Starkel, a former Oklahoma State commit. With the QB situation settled, the top targets remain and A&M definitely seems to be in good standing with Williams and Hansford. A top 20 class seems like a good bet with a top 15 or better class a good possibility.
