Texas A&M and Texas were longtime rivals, which continued when both were in the Big 12. The two teams played every year from 1915-2011, until the Aggies left for the SEC. They haven’t faced the Longhorns since.

But with both schools being in the same state, they battle for some of the same recruits. And perhaps fans of those teams still keep an eye on how the other is faring each season. At least that’s how one Texas A&M commit sees it.

On Thursday, 3-star defensive tackle Victory Vaka, who committed to Texas A&M on May 4, called out Texas fans on Twitter for being “obsessed” with the Aggies.

“Texas fans more obsessed with A&M than they are with they own team,” Vaka tweeted Thursday. “We know y’all suck and are still not back but like bro pick a side.”

Vaka is a 3-star recruit out of Westlake Village (Calif.) High School. He is the No. 21 defensive tackle in the 2021 class and the No. 460 overall recruit, per the 247Sports Composite rankings.
