Texas A&M is heading into the Early Signing Period with a massive new piece for the 2025 recruiting class.

Early Tuesday morning, 5-star prospect Lamont Rogers revealed he is committing to the Aggies to play for Mike Elko. Rogers had been committed to Mizzou and head coach Eli Drinkwitz but re-opened his recruitment on Monday with the ESP just days away.

Now, Rogers is a massive in-state pickup for Elko and the Aggies:

Rogers is listed at 6-foot-6 and 311 pounds out of Horn High School in Mesquite, Texas. He’s a 5-star offensive tackle per the 247 Sports Composite as the No. 5 OT in the country.

Rogers also checks in as the 26th overall player for the 2025 recruiting class and the No. 9 player from the state of Texas. He immediately becomes the highest-ranked prospect committed to A&M and gives the Aggies 4 players inside the top 100 nationally.

Securing that kind of commitment is a massive win for Elko and his staff, especially with Rogers’ other suitors and previous commitment to Missouri. At this point, the Aggies have the No. 9 recruiting class in the country for 2025.

The Aggies will try and parlay Elko’s first-year success into more wins on the recruiting trail and in the transfer portal, and the recruiting class is shaping up nicely.
