Texas A&M DL, former top-40 recruit, announces plans to enter NCAA transfer portal

Tunmise Adeleye will look at continuing his college football career elsewhere after 2 seasons at Texas A&M. The redshirt freshman defender is entering his name into the NCAA transfer portal.

Adeleye made the announcement on his Twitter account. The tweeted note indicates Adeleye is set on following through with transferring out:

“I will forever cherish the relationships that I built in College Station.”

From Katy, Texas, Adeleye was one of the most sought-after Class of 2021. On the 247Sports composite rankings, Adeleye was rated the No. 39 prospect overall in the class. Adeleye signed with Texas A&M over scholarship offers from 33 other schools, including Alabama and Ohio State.

Adeleye redshirted in 2021, his first season with the Aggies. In 2022, he made 3 appearances. Adeleye started the first 2 games of the season against Sam Houston State and App State, recording 5 tackles in the Week 2 contest. He made 1 more appearance this season, participating in the South Carolina game.
