Texas A&M saw a defensive lineman who contributed well for the program this past season opt for the transfer portal and is looking for a new home.

According to 247Sports, junior Isaiah Raikes is entering the transfer portal after four seasons with the Aggies.

Raikes, who joined Texas A&M in the 2020 recruiting class, compiled 42 tackles, a forced fumble, a sack and a pass deflection. He appeared in over 30 games while with the Aggies.

A 3-star recruit out of St. Augustine Prep in New Jersey, Raikes committed to Texas A&M on Dec. 13 and signed his National Letter of Intent on Dec. 18. The senior considered Penn State, Rutgers, West Virginia, Northwestern and other schools before choosing the Aggies.

Texas A&M’s roller coaster 2023 campaign included a 7-5 record in the regular season, with a 4-4 mark in the SEC added in, and the firing of head coach Jimbo Fisher on Nov. 12. Despite some adversity, the Aggies qualified for a bowl game.

The Aggies will take on No. 20 Oklahoma State (9-4) in the TaxAct Texas Bowl on Dec. 27 at 9 p.m. ET on ESPN.
