Texas A&M feasting on 3rd down conversions as LSU’s porous defense continues

Texas A&M is the latest team to take advantage of LSU’s porous defense.

Aggies quarterback Jaylen Henderson began the game 8-of-8 for 105 yards on 3rd down. He threw for 71 yards on 4 plays alone, including with yardages to get a first down being 12, 11, 9 and 7 yards. The Aggies to end the first half scored on 3rd down to retake the lead, 17-14, at the end of the half.

The Aggies were 7-of-11 on 3rd down and 2-of-3 on fourth down.

By midway through the 3rd quarter, the Aggies were a combined 10-for-15 on 3rd and 4th down.

This is not a new story for LSU, as the Tigers came into Saturday 13th in the SEC in opponents converting 3rd downs, at 44.6%.

The Aggies lead 24-21 midway through the 3rd quarter.
