Texas A&M lands commitment from 4-star top 50 in-state recruit

Texas A&M added to its recruiting haul for 2022 when the Aggies landed a commitment from Ish Harris, a running back/linebacker from Pilot Point, Texas.

Harris is listed as a running back by 247Sports, but rated as a linebacker, where is No. 37 among linebackers in the country, and No. 48 among recruits in Texas for 2022. The Aggies’ class is No. 3 in the SEC, and No. 10 in the country. He was recruited by defensive line coach Terry Price and linebackers coach Tyler Santucci.

The 6-foot-4, 200-pound playmaker has turned heads on both sides of the ball. He earned district offensive MVP honors after rushing for 1,788 yards and 18 touchdowns on 26 carries, and he also recorded 44 tackles seven interceptions on defense, TexAgs reported. Harris becomes the ninth recruit in Texas A&M’s 2022 recruiting class and the second linebacker, alongside Martrell Harris‍ of The Woodlands. It is expected that Harris will focus on defense with the Aggies, as he adds weight while maintaining lateral quickness and change of direction.

Harris has a reported 18 offers, including several teams from the Big 12 and Big Ten. He had a top-five of Miami, Michigan, Oklahoma, Texas and Texas A&M, then the Sooners, Longhorns and Aggies emerged as his leaders.
