Texas A&M lands commitment from elite in-state dual-threat QB
A day after making headlines in Hoover, Alabama, Texas A&M coach Jimbo Fisher got some huge news out of the Lone Star State.
Longview, Texas QB Haynes King pledged to the Aggies on Wednesday afternoon. Listed at over 6-2 and 189 pounds, King is a 4-star recruit on the 247Sports Composite, rated the No. 3 dual-threat quarterback, No. 13 Texas product and No. 79 prospect overall nationally in the class of 2020.
King has 28 scholarship offers, including Auburn, Arkansas, LSU, Missouri, Ole Miss and Tennessee. It was the Volunteers who finished runner-up in the recruiting battle for King. In March, King participated in a regional edition of Nike’s “The Opening” camp, logging a 4.50-second 40-yard dash, 4.08-second shuttle, 50.66-second 400 meters and a 34.80-inch vertical. He earned a spot in the Elite 11 finals.
At publishing time, King has not yet posted a commitment announcement on his Twitter account, but multiple outlets covering Texas A&M football have reported the news.
With the King commit, A&M moves into the national top-10 and should continue their push towards the top-5 with another July pledge or three. Stay tuned.

Jimbo Fisher and Darrell Dickey get their man. Huge, huge addition to the A&M class.
On and off the field, this kid is a total stud.
