Texas A&M lands commitment from No. 1 player in Oklahoma
Jimbo Fisher’s Texas A&M coaching staff successfully went into neighboring Oklahoma to land a commitment from the state’s No. 1 recruit.
Beggs standout Kendal Daniels announced his pledge to the Aggies on Saturday via his Twitter account. The 6-4, 190-pounder is rated as the No. 5 safety and No. 139 prospect overall nationally on the 247Sports Composite. Daniels had 24 scholarship offers and picked Texas A&M over fellow finalists LSU, Clemson and Oklahoma.
With Daniels on board, Texas A&M now has 13 players committed in its 2021 recruiting class. Daniels is the highest-rated defensive player of those commitments with a Composite score of 0.9376. His Hudl video of junior season highlights and tweeted commitment note can each be viewed below:
What?, how could he have passed up a chance to get on the “lowborn” network every week agains Kansas and Texas Tech and the all-texas-sex-offenders squad. Somebody please show me the sports page of the Norman Transcript. I’ll bet Kansas State and Iowa State are wishing they had bolted when Nebraska came to their senses.
What? Kansas State and Iowa State have nothing to offer to other power 5 conferences.
What are they offering the Big 12? (a ?power five? conference. The fundamental thing that a conference needs is reliable membership and participation. Iowa State and Kansas State have done that and more in a lot of sports and activities. Both programs are co-flagships of higher education in their respective states and one could argue that they are essential members after review the profile of degrees they offer unavailable at other state and regional institutions. One example of many, I think Kansas State grants a degree in Architecture, Kansas does not, Missouri has a cooperative agreement with Kansas state where Vet Medicine students come from Kansas to Missouri and Architecture from Missouri to Kansas. It makes a lot of sense and more colleges should cooperate like this with advanced degrees. Isn’t it a shame that Texas brings anti-cooperation to the whole shootin match.
Great choice, young man. Welcome to Aggieland!
