Texas A&M’s 2022 recruiting class is off to a big start.

On Sunday, Jimbo Fisher’s staff landed its first commitment for the class when Malick Sylla announced his pledge to the Aggies on his Twitter account. The Katy (Texas) standout is already ranked in the top-40 prospects of the class.

Sylla is listed at 6-6, 220 pounds on 247Sports. The site’s industry-generated Composite rankings have him as the No. 3 weak-side defensive end, No. 7 Lone Star State recruit and No. 37 prospect overall nationally.

Sylla has already collected 32 scholarship offers, including Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, LSU, Mississippi State, Ole Miss and Tennessee.
