Jimbo Fisher has officially taken two steps closer to finalizing his first Texas A&M coaching staff.

The school announced the hirings of linebackers coach Bradley Dale Peveto and cornerbacks coach Maurice Linguist on Friday. Dale Peveto left Ole Miss to join the Aggies, while Linguist comes off the Minnesota coaching staff. Both coaches have previous experience in the SEC, Dale Peveto at Kentucky, LSU and Arkansas and Linguist at Mississippi State.

Dale Peveto also has a long history of coaching in Texas and is known for his ability to recruit the state.

“Bradley Dale has coached in the SEC for many years and his knowledge of the league will be a huge asset for our defense and our program,” Fisher said in a statement. “The Peveto family name has a tremendous connection to Texas high school football and we’re excited to be able to have him our staff at Texas A&M.”

Linguist is a native of Texas and played college football at Baylor.

“Maurice has an outstanding track record of teaching and developing quality defensive backs,” Fisher added. “He is a tireless worker and he coaches with a lot of fire and enthusiasm. He’s been successful everywhere he’s been and he’ll be a tremendous addition to our coaching staff.”
